It’s a fude nib and you can write with it upside down for a fine line

I've had my Graphgear 500 since I was in 6th grade. Used it every single year all the way to date and I finished my 1st year of college this year. Just ordered the 1000 now, it will last me all of college.

A cut Zebra JF (of the Sarasa pens) fits it perfectly and is my preferred way of using this pen.

What? Permanent ink on hand? You don’t wash yourself or what? It’s ridiculous. Of course it can be washed off quite easily, nothing unusual regarding to other inks, really.

How have I gone all these years and not noticed that Energel has a permanent version? I just watched your Floatune video & came back to the channel to look for waterproof ink and found this old video. I had a serious hand injury five years ago, so I wasn;t watching your channel or doing any writing. Maybe I better go shopping.

Thanks for the comparison. I have difficulty writing & any drag really causes me problems some days. For years I was unable to even hold a pen or pencil and I am still trying to find a pen I can write or draw with for a reasonable length of time. I have found the Energel is better, but sometimes I need waterproof ink for drawing and some of my Energel pens smudge and I can't paint over them.

I got these from Amazon and they’re great. I hope they can come out with this in a mechanical version. I still float back and forth between a Uni Jetstream, a Signo 207 plus and a Schneider Slider Rave XB as my go to for regular writing. Yes both the Jetstream (unless you find a pack of the Jetstream sport in a CVS) and Schneider are kinda pricey but it’s very comfortable to write with. And the 207 plus glides effortlessly on the page. I think I might need to add the Floatune to my rotation. Anybody know how much ink or how long can you write with a Floatune?

How long the spinning time? Mine was like about 1:20 Mins. my spinner is like yours,The edges are smooth polished,Mine and yours are exactly similar but the difference is that my spinner had drilled holes,And its also Fast and quiet,btw grear video!

I've had best results with soaking in vinegar overnight, and a baking soda paste. Works like a charm. But what's most helpful for me is maintaining the interior so it never gets this bad in the first place

Wow, great review! I'm currently shopping for some mechanical pencils and this model was highly recommended. However, based on your review, I don't think I would buy this model (mainly because non-metal construction combined with high price). I like the idea of the Kuru Toga rotating mechanism, but that just means I should buy a cheaper model. Subscribed!

I like the GraphGear 500 so much that I got it in all lead sizes from 0.3 to 0.9. Cost me a lot, but it was worth the hit to the wallet.

I have a Jotter fountain pen from the early 2000's. It doesn't have any silver rings or chevrons on the nib. The nib and the whole pen are really tiny. I'm pretty sure the nib is even smaller than yours. The black cartridge Quink is less opaque than the black cartridge in my Lamy Vista.

I just won an auction for a job lot of 10 different Parkers. Mostly Jotters, of course, but there's a brand new, packaged, Jotter Flighter (all steel), some Vectors and Parker 25 Flighter. Can't wait to see the condition and whether any of the refills still work. I really wanted something with (I think it's called) the cap-o-matic system, where it isn't a button but the whole top half of the barrel, you press, and I think the 25 model has it. I just read that, in the early 70's, Parker's fortunes were flagging as they were, mostly, an old (not in a bad way) fountain pen manufacturer and their market share was being decimated by the rise and rise of ballpoints (this carries a lot of similarities and parallels to what was happening in another field I'm into, mechanical and automatic watches and 'the quartz revolution). Anyway, Parker were being seen as 'old hat'. They did market research on what the 18 to 30, potential, customer base wanted and they hired an awarded winning designer, Kenneth Grange, from the new 'User Centred Design' school of thought, who designed the 25, which they released in '75, to major success; turning the company's fortunes around. I just realised, I may be posting this comment under the wrong video, haha but I may need a few G2 refills, quite soon. I've still to read up on the history of Jotters. Thanks for all this 👍

Two things. The reserve end of the ink cartridge does function. When you run dry, you tap the reserve end, which breaks the vacuum, so the last couple of MLs of ink flow into the chamber. Second, the slim style was very popular during the '60s and '70s. Similar to Cross pens of the era.

For roughly 100 dollars I would want it to be metal.

how to make the extend

I always thought that the clip being higher was a feature. That way it doesn't click on the go by mistake and doesn't mark up the inside of your bag. The weight distribution I find to be the most alluring update. The heavier brass is tiring to hold upright. So the lower center of gravity is much more comfortable.

Not sure about the manufacturer's claims regarding the properties of the ink but Uni-ball's, so called, 'Super Ink', in the Uni-ball Eye pens are said to be waterproof, fade-proof and tamper-proof (as regards chemicals and solvents, like a forger might use). I just tested my black, bold, 1.2mm Eye and it dried within 1 second, with no smudge. Uni-ball eye and Uni Super-ink is great. Off to check your full Floatune review, next.

Silly question: why don’t they always provide a cap to this kind of pen? I always worry that the tip of the pen could be bent when I throw my notebook and pen into my bag
